Some people get surprised when they hear that we do have winter in Riyadh. Although this place is more popularly known for its 50 degrees Celsius during summer, it does get very chilly when the colder season comes. Temperature can sometimes drop to 1 or 2 degrees especially at night or dawn. But since we don't get snow or rain here, it still gets warm during the day. These weather changes really mess with my skin, aggravate my eczema and leave my lips dry and chapped all the time.
I am sharing with you today the items that have really helped me combat the notoriety of Riyadh winter. Happy reading!
TBS Almond Oil Daily Hand & Nail Cream
-This little miracle cream has literally saved my hands from cracking and bleeding. It's very moisturising, gets absorbed easily and has a heavenly scent.
-This is a hydrating cream that does the job well in moisturising the feet and keeping them healthy. It feels really nice to slather this before you slip under the blanket or after a long shower. I love the smell too and look at the pink packaging, isn't it too cute?
Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream
-An intensive treatment for battered, beaten and totally out-of-shape heels. It does what it claims and is very, very effective. It's very soothing and gives a cooling effect after you apply it. A staple for me anytime, anywhere.
TBS Cranberry Shimmer Lip Balm
-This a gorgeous lip balm that coats your lips with yummy tasting and yummy-smelling balm. It rehydrates and relieves dry puckers and leaves them with a beautiful berry tint with gold flecks.
TBS Spiced Vanilla Lip Balm
-It moisturizes and helps cracked lips. But unlike the shimmer lip balm, this doesn't leave any tint except for a milkish/creamy residue.
TBS Lip Scuff
-It's the one in slanted tube. It's like a lip scrub stick but is not very hard. It has a greenish color with small particles of exfoliators. It gets rid of dead skin while giving lips a bit of moisture. I love the tingly-minty sensation that it gives.
TBS Lip care
-This is a lip treatment that is shaped exactly like a lipstick, but I love mine too much that it's almost empty now:)) It's very moisturising even to the most chapped and beaten lips. It doesn't add any color to the lips but leaves a nice sheen. I apply this after the scuff for a very refreshing and pampering lip service.
Vaseline Petrolem Jelly
- I don't think this baby needs an introduction:) I have a stash of these small jars in every corner of the home because it's just so useful. From soothing chapped lips to cracked heels, it's a must-have all year round.
TBS Body Butter Duo in Vanilla
-I love body butters because I have very dry skin. And this one from TBS isn't an exception. It has a luscious vanilla scent that makes me crave for ice cream even in the middle of the night! The duo has some sort of a yin yang packaging, one side is for dry skin and the other part is for normal skin which is very convenient.
Clarins Hydraquench Intensive Serum
- I usually have very oily skin but I started having really dry, flaky patches around my face when the temperature dropped. Then we went to Europe for two weeks and my skin just went bananas! I had very painful, super tight skin around my face that smiling was torture. Until I found this. It's my biggest discovery and definitely my best find this winter. It's perfect for me because it gives a lot of hydration and moisture to the skin without making it look like an oil factory. I apply this before I slather my usual moisturiser and it has made a lot of difference. I still don't have a flawless complexion and this isn't a miracle product but it has calmed my skin and made a very noticeable improvement.
- Last but not the least, a make up item of course!:) This new formula from YSL is like a lipstick-balm-gloss hybrid. It's very, very moisturising and feels very luxurious on the lips. This shade is a deep berry and although it's very pigmented, it's not opaque. It applies sheer and gives plenty of sheen. It smells like a ripe mango which is a bit too much at first, but it does fade in a while and just leaves a slight whiff of mango sweetness. It tastes really yummy too. It's pricy for a gloss or for a balm and even for a lipstick but it's a very good product and if you need something to pamper yourself with, do check this one out .
